There is an infamous saying: "If you want peace, prepare for war." What a distressing paradox in this aphorism! How does this notion contribute to the state of the world as it is, century after century, and still today, as a state of endemic wars?
On a national, regional or local scale, or even on a collective, domestic or inter-individual level, wars are unleashed, destructive and distributive of social and environmental misery, reflecting a culture of normalized violence.
In this keynote, Gina Thésée will explore “Global Citizenship" and “Ecocitizenship" and in the neologism “Global Ecocitizenship" as a path towards the co-construction of a sustainable Peace, inspired by Édouard Glissant's globality and a new aphorism, which translates to proclaim "Who really wants Peace, co-constructs Peace!"
