Commons, Women, Island against Destructive Development: the case of the female divers' struggle in Jeju Island

This session will discuss women's and island discourses against developmentalism and speculative urbanization discourses from a commons perspective by examining the struggle of the Woljeongri Haenyeo women in Jeju Island against government-led development projects that destroy indigenous lives and traditional and ecological natural environments.
